Ballet for kids

Quality ballet training for the once-a-week dancer

JT Dance isn't a big, fancy school with loads of competitions. It's small classes where every child gets personal teaching from Miss Jenna, an RAD Registered Teacher, and learns proper ballet technique at their own pace.

  • Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) graded ballet, Grades 1 to 7
  • Small classes, so every dancer is seen and helped
  • Optional RAD ballet exams, with a 100% pass rate
  • After school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, in term time
  • £5.50 per class, paid by Direct Debit

Ballet technique and pointe work, by invitation

For dancers who are ready for more, Miss Jenna runs a ballet technique and pointe work class on Wednesday evenings. It builds the strength and technique needed for pre-pointe and pointe work, safely and step by step.

This class is by invitation from Miss Jenna. She'll let you know when your child is ready, so there's no need to book it.

Tell Miss Jenna about any dancing your child has done before when you enquire. She'll suggest the grade that suits them best.

What should my child wear to their first ballet class?

Anything comfortable. Leggings and a T-shirt are fine, and bare feet are fine too. Once your child has settled in, Miss Jenna supplies the JT Dance uniform. See what to wear.

Every children's ballet class is £5.50. Fees are paid by Direct Debit (GoCardless), and Miss Jenna will explain the options when you enquire.

Can we try a class first?

Yes. Try two weeks first. The first two weeks are paid as normal classes, so you can see if it's the right fit before you carry on.

Does my child have to take ballet exams?

No, RAD exams are optional. A visiting RAD examiner comes to us roughly every 12 to 18 months. Read more about RAD ballet exams.

What happens if we miss a class?

Missed classes can't be refunded. If Miss Jenna ever has to cancel a class, it's taken off your next payment.
